Canucks Defeat Oilers 5 – 2
Prospects turn it up a notch, as Cody Hodgson scores one and sets up two.
Another prospects game tonight, this time between the Vancouver Canucks and the Edmonton Oilers. The Canucks came out on top wth a 5-2 win, with Cody Hodgson leading the team with one goal and two assists. Although outshot 28 to 23, the Canucks were kept in the game with two big saves by Cory Schneider during a stretch of three consecutive penalty kills in the third period. The more veteran Oilers club was kept at bay throughout the game by a young inexperienced defense, and this allowed the Canucks Prospects to feel a win after the big loss to the Calgary Flames prospects last night. The Canucks went 2 for 5 on the powerplay, and the Oilers were kept out as the Canucks killed all 6 Oilers power play chances. The Canucks will now fly back to Vancouver where they will prepare for the Canucks main training camp that begins on Saturday.
